Synopsis
In the early 16th century in Italy, the Renaissance is in full swing and Florence is thriving with artistic depictions. Though men are opening their workshops and taking on apprentices, women are expected to be devoted wives and mothers. Arte, a young girl from a noble family, has a burning passion for painting. Despite her father's support, her mother insists on molding her into a proper lady with their limited dowry. But Arte is determined to defy gender norms and become a professional artist. She relentlessly searches for a master artisan to take her in, but finds all doors closed to a woman. Finally, Leo, a small workshop owner, offers her a chance. After proving her resolve and dedication, Leo agrees to take her on as his only apprentice. With newfound freedom, Arte is determined to establish her place in the male-dominated art world.
